Kathina is a special event to accumulate tremendous merits that Buddhists eagerly look forward to each year. It is one of the more difficult merits to perform as compared to other merits due to the following reasons.
Thailand-Myanmar jointly organized three historic events in Dawei
On 6th November 2014, Dhammakaya Foundation and the Bhikkhu Sangha of Myanmar organized three historic events in the city of Dawei, Myanmar: alms-offering ceremony to 3,000 monks and novices; pilgrimage by 1,000 monks and novices; and a lantern lighting ceremony in homage to the Lord Buddha.

As the 74th anniversary of the Most Venerable Phrarajbhavanajahn’s (Luang Por Dattajeevo) – Vice Abbot of the Wat Phra Dhammakaya, birthday approaches, it is of great honor and privilege for his disciples, comprised of venerable monks, novice monks, laymen and laywomen, and the general public, to recognize the benevolence and kindness of this magnanimous human being for his complete devotion to Buddhism and the vast knowledge he has imparted on us.

History of the End of Buddhist Lent Day
